Production 6- Planning Ahead

I haven't done much to my project since the last blog post, well I haven't done much to my project since starting it. I am mostly waiting on when I can get my pictures and my interviews done which isn't a great excuse but still one for that matter. My original goal was to base my articles off the responses I was going to receive from my interviews and the things they think people have done to stay close to the environment after being quarantined for so long and how they readapted/stayed healthy. Though this isn't a truly great idea because I have my own ideas and inspiration on what people can/have done outside. Though I was afraid of relying solely on my own ideas and inspiration in case others don't agree and feel differently about the things I have to say. But with the interviews being tomorrow and getting the opportunity to take my photos tomorrow, I will have no excuse to not start cracking down on my magazine and start getting designed.

Production 5- Set Backs & Rescheduling

When writing my last blog post update, I had stated that over the course of the weekend (between January 9th-10th) that I was going to go to the park and get my pictures that I would be using for my magazine and I was going to do my scheduled interviews. But sadly, this didn't work out. Both people I planned on interviewing had to reschedule for another time as the schedules had unfortunately changed. Seeing as it was a couple hours before we were supposed to meet that I got the heads up they wouldn't be able to meet instead of an hour prior made me a lot less anxious. And with this unfortunate occurrence, there came a resolution. They both rescheduled for this weekend on the same day around the same time as last weekend immediately after having canceled for that day. With this information I decided to just not go to the park whatsoever that day whereas I would be spending the next whole Saturday there as well.

Production 4- Planning Ideas

Since writing my last update, I am still certain with my finalized ideas that I have discussed in past updates and have no means of changing them as of now. I hope to go to my local park this weekend and to take my pictures that I will be using for my magazine, along with an interview or two of some local residents that I could incorporate into my magazine. I hope to get a broad selection of photos so I have more to choose from and can expand on my idea if I were to make changes later on. A few example photos I hope to take are a broad picture of the whole park, a couple different pictures of people with their masks on (with their permission) staying safe and close to nature, and potentially some pictures of the people(s) I decide to interview. My ideas for an interview are with a person fishing and/or a runner both with their masks on and asking them how they coped with not being able to stay close to nature during the pandemic, how it feels to finally be able to be back out and ...

Production 3- Finalizing Additions

After having the two weeks off and more time to think about my project, I have thought of more things I can do to add to my magazine, finalize ideas that I was unsure on before, and threw out ideas that I was previously thinking of adding to my magazine but decided better not to. This break helped me clear my head and give me the time to think of not what I wanted my magazine to look like but what I don't want it to look like. For example, though this project is only producing a 4 page mini magazine of a feature article, there is so much that I can go into detail about that I worry about getting sidetracked by a new idea and start straying away from my original concept. But I have a great concept as of now and I have a clear idea of what I want to talk about and what I want to discuss in my magazine and if it changes a little, I know that change was for the best.
